Jerry and Walter

 Meet Jerry

Jerry is an avid conspiracy theorist. He considers himself a sovereign citizen and therefore hasn’t paid his taxes since 1997. His hobbies are forging knives and knitting pillow shams. His friends think he’s one eye twitch away from a total mental breakdown.

 Meet Walter.

Walter is a boomer who hates millennials. He thinks they are all lazy and make sure everyone knows it. His diet consists only of meat and potatoes which has resulted in undiagnosed scurvy. The scurvy is probably a contributing factor to Walters piss poor attitude and overall cantankerous demeanour. The owner of a Walter mug should be equally as cantankerous.

 This piece of art starts as a ball of clay, it is then shaped, trimmed, handled and once dry I hand carved the images into the mug using a variety of carving tools. Each piece takes between 3 - 6 weeks to make and is fired in a kiln three times. I use a translucent white porcelain.  If you are like me, and enjoy sitting in the sun while you have your morning coffee, you will notice that the sun shines through the body of the mug, it just makes the morning extra beautiful.
