How to Apply Peel and Stick Wallpaper

Are you looking to add some personality and flair to your home without breaking the bank? Peel and stick wallpaper is a great option for those who want to refresh their space without the hassle of traditional wallpaper. In this guide, we'll walk you through the steps of applying peel and stick wallpaper like a pro.

Preparing the Wall

Before starting, it's crucial to ensure that the wall is clean and smooth. Any bumps or inconsistencies may cause the wallpaper to bubble or not stick properly. Start by wiping down the wall with a damp cloth to remove any dust or dirt. For a smoother surface, you can also sand down any rough patches.

Applying the Wallpaper

Starting from the top, peel off a few inches of the backing paper and align the wallpaper with the top of the wall. Smooth out any air bubbles with a squeegie as you go. Slowly peel off the backing paper while smoothing the wallpaper onto the wall. Continue this process until you reach the bottom of the wall.

Finishing Touches

Once the wallpaper is applied, use a sharp utility knife to trim any excess wallpaper at the top and bottom. For a seamless finish, run a wallpaper applicator over the entire surface to ensure that the wallpaper is firmly stuck to the wall.
